Your device discovers others over Bluetooth — no sign-up, no directory, no lookup service anywhere.
Messages travel over a shared Wi-Fi network if there is one, or over Bluetooth if there is not. Whichever connection is available carries the message. Neither uses the internet.
A message can hop through other devices running the app to reach someone out of range. Each hop is encrypted for its recipient, so a device passing it along cannot read it.
X25519 key agreement, HKDF-SHA256, ChaCha20-Poly1305. Sender identity and a replay counter are bound into the ciphertext, so a relay cannot forge, downgrade or replay a message.
Compare a six-word safety phrase in person. If a contact\'s key ever changes, the app warns you and the warning survives a restart.

Publish an optional page people nearby can browse — a tagline and bio to find like-minded people, or business details, hours, address, phone and links like a menu or booking page to be found by customers. It travels over the offline mesh, never a server. Turn it off any time.
